In the line of duty, medical personnel at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital often serve our country's finest following an injury.
With this in mind, the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital recently hosted three distinguished guests -- the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of National Defence, Brigadier-General M.P. Jorgensen, Commander Land Force Western Area, and Mr. Laurie Hawn, Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre. The Minister, who was on a cross-country tour to Canadian Forces Bases, stopped in at the Glenrose to better understand the Glenrose's role in the care of injured Canadian soldiers.
Dr. Ted Purcell brought greetings from the Glenrose Foundation Board of Trustees and received the Minister's endorsement for the Courage Centre campaign. The Minister visited Unit 4A and treatment areas, while also participating in technology demonstrations of speech generating communication devices and powered wheelchairs with alternate access.
